The Pine’s Is The Place To Be

The Columbia Gorge is home to a large number of wineries and vineyards. They range from small, boutique wineries to large, renowned wineries. Whichever you prefer, one thing is certain, guests of Celilo Inn are bound to find their favorite wine right here in the Gorge. One of our personal favorites is The Pine’s 1853 Vineyard.

The Pine’s Tasting Room in Hood River is always a guest favorite, however what people don’t always know is that their vineyard is located right here in The Dalles! For years now The Pine’s has been growing deliciously phenomenal grapes, it wasn’t until 2001 however that this family run vineyard decided to start producing their own wine. The family’s passion for their grapes carries over into their winemaking.

If you’ve ever wondered how wineries make such delicious wine, you’re definitely going to want to take a tour of The Pine’s Vineyard. Tours must be set up 3 days in advance by either calling 541-993-8300 or submitting their online form, which can be found at www.thepinesvineyard.com.

For more information on wineries or to book a wineries tour be sure to speak to our friendly staff when staying at Celilo Inn.

Beautiful Scenery and Artisan Wine at Cascade Cliffs

There are a number of fun things to do in the Columbia Gorge, especially in and around The Dalles. One thing that many of the Celilo Inn guests love to do is go wine tasting, and they really couldn’t pick a better location to do so! With over 30 award-winning wineries located within 45 minutes of Celilo Inn, wine tours are a great way to spend time with a significant other, family, or group of friends. Whether you’re going on a wine tour or are just passing through, one winery you’re going to want to stop at for sure is Cascade Cliffs.

Located across the river off of Highway 14 in Wishram, Washington, Cascade Cliffs’ winery and vineyard has been a wine lovers favorite for over 20 years. With two decades of winemaking and grape growing experience, it is clear that the Cascade Cliffs’ team knows what they’re doing. If you’re in the mood try a wide variety of delicious wines, then a visit to the tasting room either in Hood River or the winery itself is in order. Cascade Cliffs bottles 10 different wines. The following is a list of the delicious wines you can try:

  • Barbera
  • Nebbiolo
  • Symphony
  • Dolcetto
  • Syrah
  • Merlot
  • Zinfandel
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Goat Head Red
  • Horsethief Red

However, what really seals the deals is the stunning view. Situated on a bluff, surrounded by basalt rock cliffs, stopping by Cascade Cliffs for the view alone is well worth it. The winery and tasting room have a rustic charm to them that make the overall experience a fun, warm and friendly one.

The next time you stay at Celilo Inn, be sure to make Cascade Cliffs a stop on your visit. Celilo Inn also offers a wine tour package, which includes a guided wine tour to not only Cascade Cliffs but a number of other wineries in the area as well.
