“The Starlight Parade – The Dalles, Oregon”

It’s that time of year again: The first frost has hit and the holiday season is upon us. This Friday, November 29th, will be the 24th Annual Starlight Parade this year. Join us in the evening around six with a cup of hot cocoa and watch the themed “Parade of Trees” float throughout 6th and Webber Streets. As it winds its way downtown traveling East on 3rd Street to Jefferson Street, then crossing over and heading West on 2nd Street, where it disbands in front of the Chamber building at 404 West 2nd Street. Be sure to stop by to see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce. A photographer will be waiting to capture the special moment when your child tells Santa what toy he or she wants for Christmas. This is the first year The Dalles is bringing back the lighting ceremony of the community tree. The Mayor, Steve Lawrence will flip the switch after the parade at seven thirty. This night is sure to be magical for anyone who attends as the downtown area has been turned into a Christmas wonderland.
