We at the Celilo Inn love our wine and we love relaxation, but every now and then we like to stretch our legs and go adventuring. Lucky for our guests, Celilo Inn is located minutes away from as much exploration as one could ever want! Taking advantage of this, Celilo Inn has created the Adventure Package.
The main adventure within the Adventure Package is a white water rafting trip down the Deschutes or White Salmon River.
Deschutes River is one of the most popular destinations for white water rafting. This is most likely due to the exquisite canyon surroundings, perpetually great weather, and consistent water flow. White water rafting on the Deschutes River is fun for all ages and all experiences levels.
White Salmon River is a favorite destination for experienced and adventurous first time white water rafters. This rafting excursion is full of multiple rapids in quick secession, and features the exciting Husum Falls.
After your white water rafting adventure, if you still are craving more don’t fret, there are plenty of other opportunities for exploration in The Dalles, OR and the surrounding areas.
Hiking in Central Oregon
For a nice day hike there is always the Deschutes River State Park Trail. This trail is located 20 minutes from Celilo Inn. The trail is about 4 miles long and is one of the highest rated trails on Trails.com.
Mountain Biking in The Dalles
If mountain biking is more your style, there are plenty of trails near by such as FifteenmileCreek: Petersburg Bridge to
the Columbia River trail. This trail is located 35 minutes from Celilo Inn and is great for experienced mountain bikers.

Maryhill Winery
Maryhill Winery, located 25 minutes from Celilo Inn in Goldendale, WA, is one of the biggest, most renowned wineries in the Northwest. Maryhill opened its doors in 2001 and has been exponentially growing and improving ever since. Currently the winery produces 18 different varietals and 27 different wines! In 2009, Maryhill Winery was voted Washington Winery of the Year by Wine Press Northwest. Over the years Maryhillhas won countless awards for a number of their wines.

The wines available for tasting change regularly, so every time you go it’s a new experience. The winery is located on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River. If you find a wine you like, you can purchase a glass or bottle and sit on the beautiful, Italian style patio–enjoying your wine and the view.
Cascade Cliffs Vineyard and Winery
In our wine tour package you will also have the chance to visit the Cascade Cliffs Vineyard and Winery. The winery is located 20 minutes from Celilo Inn in Wishram,WA.
A smaller winery, Cascade Cliffs is dedicated to creating wines that are pure and simple yet profoundly delicious. The wine makers have taken example from the beautiful, authentic natural surroundings and have infused this natural beauty into their wine.

Marshal’s produces 11 different wines, one of which received the Silver medal at the Tri-City Wine Festival! The wines range from the classic to Marshal’s custom blends. The small town charm paired with the tasty wines makes for a fun and charming experience.
Sunshine Mill
Sunshine Mill is a historic gem. Located only 5 minutes from Celilo Inn, it’s an amazing place to visit just for the history alone!
Originally the Sunshine Mill was an old wheat mill that was in operation for 130 years. Now, however, it acts as a tasting room. When the new owners took over they made sure to restore and preserve much of the building’s history. Much of the original equipment is still there, creating a fun atmosphere for wine tasting.

The Sunshine Mill acts as the tasting room for two local wineries, Quenett and Copa Di Vino. With one stop you have the opportunity to taste wines from two amazing wineries! Currently Sunshine Mill provides 10 different wines to choose from.

Celilo Inn guests take in the view
This past Saturday, many of Celilo Inn’s guests could be found sitting on the patio, taking in the beautiful summer evening. The patio overlooks the historic The Dalles Dam which is on the breathtaking Columbia River. Accompanying the great view was the wonderful weather. The 80 degree temperature with a nice breeze and striking sunset made for a perfect evening to sit outside (and our guests took advantage of this opportunity)!
Although the weather and view that The Dalles,OR provides is a luxury in and of itself, Celilo Inn has decided to enhance our guests experience with a relaxing event that will happen every Saturday 6:00pm-9:00pm. This past Saturday (and on future Saturday’s) Celilo Inn invited Bill Coones’ Jazz Trio to perform live on the patio. The Jazz Trio played a variety of jazz and classic blues songs that helped create a soothing and fun ambiance. Guests of all ages had an enjoyable time listening and singing along to the songs.
In addition to providing live music, Celilo Inn also had a free wine tasting in the lobby; located next to the patio. While the winery will change from

week to week, this past Saturday Celilo Inn featured local winery Waving Tree Vineyards and Winery. Our guests had a choice of tasting any of the four wines brought for tasting. The four delicious wines included Zinplify, a Zinfandel blend, Sangiovese, Grenache, and Barbera, an Italian varietals wine. The wine tasting lasted from 6:30-7:30. If our guests found a wine that they especially liked, bottles were available for purchase.
As many wine enthusiasts know, you can’t have wine without cheese! With this in mind, Celilo Inn provided platters of various cheeses and crackers, as well as fresh grapes, melons and strawberries.

With wine glass in hand, our guests had a pleasant evening, sitting on the patio watching the sunset while listening to great music, tasting delicious wine and eating scrumptious snacks. If you missed out on this past Saturday’s party on the patio don’t worry! As stated, Celilo Inn will be holding this rejuvenating event every Saturday,6:00pm-9:00pm until October.
